I’m tired of buying these extreme beans at the store, so I made my own with beans and jalapeños fresh from the garden.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds got beans

  • 2 cloves garlic chopped

  • 1 tablespoon pickling spices

  • 2 ¾ cups water

  • 1 ¼ cups white vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 tablespoons pickling salt

  • 2 to 3 small jalapeños chopped

Instructions

  • Wash beans and trim the ends. Place beans in jars along with garlic, jalapeños and pickling spices.

  • Bring water, vinegar, sugar, and salt to a boil until dissolved.

  • Pour hot mixture over the beans. Cool fully at room temperature.

  • Place lid on jar and refrigerate at least 4 days before eating or up to 1 month.
